La vidéo date du 18 mai, mais elle vient seulement de faire surface aux Etats-Unis. On y voit l'arrestation d'un homme afro-américain par des policiers de Sarasota, en Floride. Au cours de l'interpellation, l'un des officiers bloque la personne interpellée en écrasant son cou du genou, pendant environ une minute et demie. L'issue n'a pas été fatale mais, plus d'une semaine après la mort de George Floyd dans des circonstances similaires, ces images choquent une nouvelle fois le pays.

Les quatre policiers impliqués dans le meurtre de George Floyd à Minneapolis feront face à la justice. After over a week of protests over the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer, calls for change were finally heard when city council officials voted to ban the use of neck restraints at a virtual meeting Friday. They are also requiring officers who witness unauthorized use of force to report it from the scene, and intervene verbally and physically. Walter Scott, Freddie Gray, Philando Castile, Alton Sterling gibi isimlerim polis tarafından öldürülmeleri ABD’de geniş çaplı toplumsal gösterilere neden oldu.
Ülkede polisin neden olduğu ölümlerin kaydını tutan ‘mappingviolence.org’ sitesindeki verilere göre, 2019’da 1019 kişi polis tarafından öldürüldü. Verilere göre ABD’de bir siyahın polis tarafından öldürülme ihtimali beyazın üç katı.

A Driver was filmed speeding into George Floyd protestors in Denver on a third night of fury across America.
The driver of a vehicle ran over a protester during a George Floyd demonstration in Denver, Colorado.
Shocking video captured in Colorado appears to show a black Jeep Grand Cherokee plough into a group of protesters at a Black Lives Matter protest.
Protesters were rallying against the police-involved killing of black man George Floyd, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Footage from the Denver rally shows a driver speeding through a crowd of demonstrators before turning the car around and crashing into one of the protesters.
Protests, some violent, occurred across America since May 26, the day after video circulated of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin pinning Floyd, 46, to the ground with his knee on his neck. Floyd died soon after, according to police.

Black Lives Matter and we need to amplify their voices right now. We need to stand in solidarity because they are fighting for justice. They are fighting against police racism, violence and brutality that kills Black people. They are standing for the right to life - something we can all lose if we allow police to continue lethal racism. If Black people can't breathe, none of us can.
Justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Armbery, Eric Garner, Michael Brown Jr., Duane Christian, Andrew Loku, Jermaine Carby, D'Andre Campbell and the thousands of other precious lives lost.

All four former Minneapolis police officers fired last month following the death of George Floyd, a Black man who died while in police custody, are now facing charges, Minnesota attorney general Keith Ellison announced on Wednesday.
Derek Chauvin, who was seen on video kneeling on Floyd's neck for more than seven minutes, was charged with second-degree murder, a charge the had been upped from a previous third-degree murder charge laid against him last week.
Former officers Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane were also charged on Wednesday with aiding and abetting murder in the second-degree, a felony charge. Minnesota Criminal Bureau of Apprehension superintendent Drew Evans said that one of three other officers is in custody and they expect the other two officers to be in custody sometime Wednesday afternoon.
