Mayor Eric Adams unveiled the Knightscope K5 Security Robot last Friday. The technology is on a two-month lease to the city and will be patrolling Times Square station, which is the busiest subway stop in New York City, between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. K5 features a button for individuals to call for help. Despite privacy concerns, police officials assert K5 won't record audio or use facial recognition technology.
