Chicago PROTEST LIVE: Day 1 | RIOT

Protesters were throwing water bottles at officers in riot gear. Some people were seen lifting up police barricades and other objects and throwing them at police vehicles.

Officers were seen restraining people as they tried to control the crowd.

The city of Chicago tweeted Saturday: "This weekend, multiple protests, marches and rallies are expected in Chicago's downtown area."

"Chicago Police Department will continue to work with rally organizers to provide the safest routes for marches and to ensure the protests remain peaceful."
