Several hundred people took part in an anti-racism demonstration in Vilnius on Friday, in support of the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
The protesters were seen taking a knee in tribute to Floyd, and holding several banners while chanting “Black Lives Matter”, and “I can't breathe”, the words repeated by Floyd before his death.
The demonstrators marched from the Cathedral Square to the American embassy, repeating “no justice – no peace.”
"We are protesting inequality for the black people in America because they are treated unfairly by the police forces, I think. And I believe everyone needs to have the same chance of justice everywhere," said Greta Vinskunaite, one of the protesters.
Protests sparked by Floyd's death at the hands of police in Minneapolis have been taking place since May 26 in the US and around the world.
