More than 50 Secret Service agents have been injured during ugly clashes outside the White House on a sixth night of violence sparked by the death of George Floyd.

The attacks came after President Trump was reportedly moved to a secure bunker usually used during terror attacks as heated protests escalated across Washington D.C.

Agents rushed Trump to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center as they were nervous for his safety, the New York Times reported.

A senior official involved in defending Washington D.C. later told Fox News dozens of Secret Service officers were injured in clashes on Sunday night.

The source also claimed some rioters were seen throwing bottles and Molotov cocktails at law enforcement officers.

Others were spotted parking cars near the 'President's Palace' filled with incendiary materials for future use, Fox News reported it was told.

A looter has reportedly been shot dead by the owner of a pawn shop as violence erupted over the death of George Floyd.

Protests began peacefully before descending into violence in Minneapolis and Los Angeles as fury mounts over Floyd, who died after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck.

Footage includes a shocking moment a man falls off the hood of a police car during George Floyd rally in Los Angeles.

Minneapolis police chief John Elder confirmed at a press conference the rioting had turned deadly as a man was killed.

He confirmed the person had been shot and another man was being held in custody after a body was was found lying on the sidewalk outside the Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry.

Police officers attempted CPR on him but it was too late as Mr Elder said "everything was done that we could do to try to preserve this man's life".

The top cop refused to confirm reports the shooter was the owner of the pawn shop and if the man was attempting to loot the store.

He confirmed this was "one theory" but detectives are probing "a couple of different scenarios".

Video being circulated online shows a group of officers surrounding a man lying sprawled on the floor.

Voices from a gathered crowd can be heard shouting "f*** y'all" as one cop appears to be giving the man CPR.

Cops then disperse the onlookers, shouting "there is someone in there with a rifle" as two officers run towards a building appearing to have their weapons drawn.

Global News Washington Bureau Chief Jackson Proskow was on the streets of Washington, D.C. where protesters rushed past him while he was live on-air for Global National. Police appeared to release pepper spray or tear gas in order to disperse the crowd near the White House on Sunday.

Protests have taken place in at least 76 cities across the U.S. this past weekend and in some cases the authorities have lost complete control. Jennifer Johnson has the latest on the riots and violence spreading across America.

The U.S. has a long history involving violence against black Americans. Rallies, protests and acts of civil disobedience often follow and as Mike Le Couteur reports, the country may be at a boiling point.

The hurt and anger sparked by the death of George Floyd has rippled through the U.S. and throughout the world. But amid the chaos there are powerful calls to bring people together and make changes.

A memorial service for George Floyd is being held in Raeford, North Carolina this afternoon while large scale demonstrations take place in Washington, DC and across the country to demand change. Concrete change to how police and law enforcement authorities are able to restrain and use force is already happening in some jurisdictions in the wake of George Floyd's death at the hands of Minneapolis, Minn, police officers. The underlying tension between law enforcement and the black community has yet to be addressed writ large.

On Thursday, a memorial service for George Floyd at North Central University took place with attendees and speakers including Rev. Al Sharpton, Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, T.I., Ludacris, and others. Members of George Floyd's family thanked those in attendance and those speaking up for their support.

On Wednesday, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced an upgrade to the charges against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin from murder in the third degree to second degree murder, and announced aiding and abetting charges against the other police officers who were present at the death of George Floyd.

Ruptly is live from New York City on Saturday, June 6, as people continue protesting against police brutality and racial discrimination almost two weeks after the death of George Floyd.

Floyd was a 46-year-old black man who was killed during an arrest in Minneapolis on Monday, May 25, after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes despite Floyd saying he couldn’t breathe. The officer was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter. Later the other three officers involved in the arrest were also charged.

The incident sparked massive protests across the US and other countries around the world. ​
