Arizona woman testifies in George Floyd murder trial

A witness from Arizona who recorded video of the altercation between George Floyd and Minneapolis police is taking the stand as the prosecution's second witness.

Derek Chauvin faces three charges: second-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter and third-degree murder in the death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020.

Prosecutor Jerry Blackwell gave an opening statement describing those charges and how the state plans to prove them. His statement lasted about an hour and included bystander video of George Floyd under Chauvin's knee. He said "nine two nine" are the most important numbers in the trial, referring to the nine minutes and 29 seconds Chauvin knelt on Floyd.
