Global National: May 30, 2020 | Violence erupts across U.S. following George Floyd death

Protests in several cities across America that were sparked after the death of George Floyd during a police arrest, descended into violence, vandalism and looting. NBC News Reporter Morgan Chesky is on the ground in Minneapolis where the governor has called for the National Guard to assist in quelling protesters.

U.S. President Trump on Saturday said the military is ready to assist the state’s National Guards as they try to keep the peace. Jennifer Johnson reports.

Thousands of protesters gathered at Toronto’s Christie Pits on Saturday after 29-year-old Regis Korchinski-Paquet fell to her death from a 24th floor balcony. Morganne Campbell has more.

The World Health Organization is losing its biggest financial supporter as the U.S. severs all ties. As Mike Le Couteur reports, other countries including Canada could be asked to fill the gap.
