Novel coronavirus Live Streaming: Breaking news, world Map and live counter on confirmed cases, recovered cases(COVID-19).

I started this live stream on Jan 26th, and since Jan 30th I have been streaming this without stopping. Many people are worried about the coronavirus spreading. For anyone that wants to know the numbers and progression of worldwide spread of this virus, I offer this live stream. The purpose is not to instill fear or panic, nor is it to necessarily comfort; I just present the data to help inform the public of the current situation.

At first, I tried to show only official data from governments without any manipulation. But many people wanted to apply up-to-date data to stream, I added procedure to manually manipulate data with my computer. As seeing the inflicted countries sharply increased, I realized that no longer I could not afford new information from 100 countries 'alone'. So I made another procedure which enables moderators can manipulate number on screen remotely. Not only moderators who willingly accepted hard works but also everyone that give us reliable information are making data of stream.

The numbers on screen is based on combination of government announcement and news media. For more than a month, I and moderators have been experienced about which information will be included in the next day's official announcement. As most of you feel, I want to empahsize that the number on screen have high possiblity that would be adapted next official announcement. Once a day, our numbers are exactly matched with governments announcement. And still there are many possibility we are showing incorrect numbers.

There were some questions that 'do you believe the number from China?'.I partially agree with recent decreasement in confirmed case numbers because China has been set the strong lockdown strategy in Wuhan (If lockdown won't work, it means we have no future. I strongly hope lockdown has great effects on decreasing confirmed cases). Several days ago, in WHO media conference someone asked the question about the number of recovered patients. Accoriding to Dr. John Campbell's video, WHO set the criteria of recovered patients as follow: 1. no symptom 2. normal chest X-ray 3. consecutive negative lab tests for 2 days. But this criteria is just recommendation by WHO. Most of countries would try to follow the criteria when they can contain COVID19. But when they are in harsh circumstance of shortage of medical resources or political pressure, those will make them hard to follow it. I roughly guess that China doesn't follow the criteria recommended by WHO.

I majored in life science and joined bioinformatics laboratory for master degree. At that time I used python. Since I decided to change my career as dentist, I have been stopped programming for 15 years. Now, I start to learn more about python with googling.
Because my job doesn't allow mistakes, I won't try something new works. Still I am wondering how can i start this live streaming. Sometimes python program doesn't work as i intended.

If I can devote all my free time to this live stream, I would give more accurate and faster information. But please understand that I can't manipulate data all day. While I am working and sleeping, data gathering is done automatically.

I live in South Korea. At the beginning of streaming, the number of confirmed cases were not so high in South Korea. After sudden appearing local transmission that can't be trackable, the number has been dramatically increased. Please be warned that COVID-19 is highly contagious disease.

Although the stream started off crude and basic, many people have supported me in improving and maintaining this. It is because of your support that I am encouraged to keep streaming. I especially appreciate all moderators for willingly accepting the role. ⁣⁣Do-it-yourself hand sanitizer formula from World Health Organization (WHO) scaled down for home use. US & metric recipes below

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, hand sanitizers are in short supply. You can easily make your own using drugstore materials: alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and glycerin. To help prevent shortages, please buy only the amounts of ingredients you will actually use in the next month. No need to panic! If everyone behaves reasonably, supplies will return to normal.

To make one-third quart of hand sanitizer:

o 1 cup isopropyl alcohol 99% (see below for 91% or 70% alcohol)

o 1 Tablespoon hydrogen peroxide 3%

o 1 teaspoon glycerin

o Water to make a total of 1 and 1/3 cups (1/3 quart)

In metric units, to make 320 ml:

o 240 ml isopropyl alcohol 99% (see below for 91% or 70% alcohol)

o 15 ml hydrogen peroxide 3%

o 5 ml glycerin

o Water to make a total of 320 ml

Here is the procedure:

1. Put on glasses or goggles to protect your eyes.

2. Combine the first three ingredients in a container.

3. Add clean water to reach a total of 1 and 1/3 cups (320 ml).

4. Mix thoroughly by stirring or shaking.

5. Pour the mixture into dispensing bottles.

6. Label each bottle "Hand Sanitizer 75% alcohol"

Isopropyl alcohol (also known as rubbing alcohol and isopropanol) is the ingredient that kills bacteria and viruses. It is sold in drugstores at different strengths, typically 70%, 91%, and 99%. The target strength for the final hand sanitizer is 75% alcohol.

o For 99% alcohol, start with 1 cup (240 ml)

o For 91% alcohol, start with 1 cup plus 4 teaspoons (265 ml)

o For 70% alcohol, start with 1 and 1/4 cups (300 ml)

The 70% alcohol case, no additional water is needed, and the resulting sanitizer is 66% alcohol, which is less than the WHO recommended 75%, but still greater than the minimum required 60% for effectiveness.

Hydrogen peroxide 3% is an antiseptic sold in drugstores with other disinfectants. The small amount used in the formula is not effective for sanitizing the skin. Its purpose to kill any spores in the ingredients and containers.

Glycerin (also known as glycerol) is a clear, thick liquid used as a moisturizer in skin care products and as a food ingredient. It helps prevent your hands from drying out. You can find it in the drugstore with other skin care products.

If your water is not absolutely clean, first boil it and allow it too cool to room temperature. If your containers and ingredients are not absolutely clean, allow 72 hours for the hydrogen peroxide to kill any spores present, and keep the solution away from sunlight and UV light, which break down the hydrogen peroxide.

Some viewers are asking if they can substitute, omit, or add specific ingredients. Sorry, I don't know. I just took the WHO formula and scaled down the quantities for home use. The WHO pamphlet says not to add any fragrance or gelling agents.

The consistency of the final product is a liquid, not a gel. A spray bottle is useful for applying the sanitizer to your hands without dripping. Be careful to direct the spray at your hands. Label the container and keep it away from anyone who might misuse it.

Beware of DIY hand sanitizer formulas that result in a final alcohol content of less than 60%. For example, mixing two parts 70% alcohol with one part aloe vera gel results in a final 47% alcohol content, which is too low. 80-proof vodka is only 40% alcohol and therefore not suitable for making sanitizer.
