Eugene riot destroys parts of Downtown

Police brutality protesters seeking justice for Houston native George Floyd took to the streets for a second day Saturday after protesting for nearly 12 hours on Friday.

An organized protest began around 5 p.m. in Detroit on Saturday and marched through Corktown and Southwest Detroit. The event went on without incident and was largely peaceful.

Protests began peacefully Saturday afternoon but took a turn after protesters clashed with police. Civil unrest became chaotic across Dallas and the U.S. that night.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday night as protests turned destructive, the Atlanta natives, rappers and business men made a case for protecting Atlanta.

Community leaders, business owners and political leaders all tried to survey the damage and make sense of a night of violent protest in Downtown Portland. Hundreds of people broke off from a much larger vigil reflecting on the death of George Floyd. For hours they looted stores and set fire to buildings in Portland.

A protest over the death of George Floyd in police custody turned violent on Sunday night. What began as an attempted removal of a confederate monument at a city park, eventually descended in to rioting and looting of local banks and businesses.

Several Seattle police and city vehicles were set on fire during violent and chaotic protests after a rally for George Floyd on Saturday.

Minneapolis has entered the fourth day of unrest in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, with rioters taking over the police department’s 3rd Precinct building late Thursday night, Christiane Cordero reports (4:39).
