Miley Cyrus Reacts To Derek Chauvin Charges After George Floyd Death

THE police officer filmed kneeling on George Floyd's neck while he was in handcuffs has been charged with third-degree murder.

Derek Chauvin was also charged with manslaughter following his arrest on Friday.

However, officials have said that more charges are possible, according to a CityNews reporter.

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar tweeted: "Police officer Derek Chauvin has been arrested and is in custody for the murder of George Floyd.

"The first step towards justice."

Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington told the Associated Press that state investigators arrested Chauvin.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said in a press conference on Friday: "This is by far the fastest we've ever charged a police officer - usually these cases can take nine months to a year."

Freeman also said "I anticipate charges" against the three other officers involved.

In response to the arrest, the family of Floyd and their attorney Ben Crump, released a statement on Friday.

E’ stato tratto in arresto Derek Chauvin, l’agente di polizia di Minneapolis coinvolto nella morte dell’afroamericano George Floyd. Nel frattempo è emerso che che la vittima e l’agente si polizia si conoscevano, avendo lavorato per la sicurezza dello stesso night club, il Nuevo Rodeo. “Si conoscevano, erano colleghi da molto tempo”, ha detto la vicepresidente del consiglio cittadino. Quello di Chauvin era da tempo il profilo di un uomo che probabilmente mai si sarebbe dovuto occupare di ordine pubblico: il poliziotto in 19 anni di carriera ha infatti collezionato molte denunce per uso eccessivo della forza.

An NYPD detective this week denounced Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, shown in viral footage pinning his knee on the neck of George Floyd, as a failure — and called him his “enemy” because he dishonored the badge.

Detective Dmaine Freeland spoke out in a public video posted to Facebook Wednesday about the Monday night incident that has sparked national outrage.

“I felt compelled to say something, because I realized by saying nothing that I am indeed saying something,” said Freeland, who is wearing his NYPD uniform in the clip.

We have an emerging story from Mintpress News and the Guardian that Amy Klobuchar, when she was a prosecutor in Minneapolis and Minnesota, failed to prosecute Derek Chauvin, Cop who took George Floyd's Life. As reported by the Guardian, Klobuchar systematically failed to hold police officers to account when they had interactions with black citizens. This included at least one incident from Derek Chauvin in 2006.

This should end Amy Klobuchar's career, and should end her consideration to be Joe Biden's Running Mate for Vice President in 2020. She cannot be seen as a champion for justice and equality for black Americans.
