BLACK Lives Matter protesters fill London streets over the death of George Floyd in the US.

People gather in Parliament Square, chanting 'No Justice No Peace' in the memory of George Floyd, a black man, who died after a white police officer knelt on his neck.

The 46-year-old was handcuffed and on the ground in Minneapolis earlier this week before falling unconscious.

Video of him pinned down, which has gone viral, shows Mr Floyd begging for air saying, "please, I can't breathe" and "don't kill me".

Protests have since flared up across the US, with the movement against police brutality going global.

On Saturday afternoon protesters in London carried placards reading "solidarity" and "Black lives matter".

Some read "the UK is not innocent" as dozens of people marched through Peckham, stopping buses and cars on the main road.

Derek Chauvin trial: Opening arguments begin for ex-cop charged in George Floyd's death | FULL
Derek Chauvin trial: Opening arguments begin for ex-cop charged in George Floyd's death | FULL WorldViralMedia 27 Views • 6 years ago

The trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer accused of killing George Floyd, began Monday with opening arguments.

Special prosecutor Jerry Blackwell told the jurors that officers who wear the Minneapolis police badge pledge never to use "unnecessary force or violence."

"You will learn that on May 25, Mr. Derek Chauvin betrayed this badge when he used excessive and unreasonable force upon the body of George Floyd," he said.

Defence lawyer Eric Nelson used his opening statement to describe Floyd's drug use, his underlying health problems and a chaotic scene during the arrest. "Derek Chauvin did exactly what he was trained to do over the course of his 19-year career,” he stated.

The first witness was Jena Scurry, a Minneapolis 911 emergency dispatcher who watched live surveillance video footage of Floyd’s arrest. Scurry said her instinct told her “something is wrong," and that she called a supervising police sergeant.

Other witnesses included Donald Williams and Alisha Oyler, bystanders of the arrest.

Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minn. after the officer knelt on his neck for an extended period during an arrest. Chauvin faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted on the most serious charge.

VLOG 017 - The DARK Side of Being a DIGITAL NOMAD : Why I've Stopped Traveling Full-Time
VLOG 017 - The DARK Side of Being a DIGITAL NOMAD : Why I've Stopped Traveling Full-Time WorldViralMedia 7 Views • 7 years ago

After seven years of traveling basically non-stop and living life as a digital nomad, I decided last year (2019) to hang up my cape and quit the digital nomad lifestyle.

While it’s an incredible lifestyle to have for many reasons—seeing new places, meeting tons of awesome people, doing lots of cool things—there is a major downside to being a digital nomad. And that’s something that I’d like to talk about here in this vlog.

Obviously, I’m talking from my own personal experience, meaning, this might not be the same case with you.

However, apart from my personal observations, I have also talked with tons of other digital nomads about the fact that loneliness and feelings of emptiness are often attached to this lifestyle of continually moving around and being in places where other people do the same thing as well…
