LIVE: Murder Trial of Derek Chauvin Over Death of George Floyd Begins in Minneapolis
LIVE: Murder Trial of Derek Chauvin Over Death of George Floyd Begins in Minneapolis WorldViralMedia 29 Views • 4 years ago

(Mar. 29) The video of George Floyd gasping for breath was front and center Monday as the former Minneapolis police officer who pressed his knee on the Black man’s neck went on trial Monday on charges of murder and manslaughter.

Prosecutor Jerry Blackwell showed the jurors the footage at the earliest opportunity, during opening statements, after telling them that the number to remember was 9 minutes, 29 seconds — the amount of time officer Derek Chauvin had Floyd pinned to the pavement last May.

The white officer “didn’t let up” even after a handcuffed Floyd said 27 times that he couldn’t breathe and went limp, Blackwell said in the case that triggered worldwide protests, scattered violence and national soul-searching over racial justice.

“He put his knees upon his neck and his back, grinding and crushing him, until the very breath -- no, ladies and gentlemen -- until the very life was squeezed out of him,” the prosecutor said.

Chauvin attorney Eric Nelson countered by arguing: “Derek Chauvin did exactly what he had been trained to do over his 19-year career.”

Floyd was resisting arrest, and Chauvin arrived to assist other officers who were struggling to get Floyd into a squad car as the crowd around them grew larger and more hostile, Nelson said.

The Oral Health Benefits of CBD
The Oral Health Benefits of CBD WorldViralMedia 29 Views • 5 years ago

CBD otherwise known as Cannabidiol has been shown to have many therapeutic and anti-inflammatory benefits. It's amazing effects on those who suffer from seizures have made some critics reconsider their position. CBD also has been known to be very helpful in dealing with chronic pain.

Today, Dr. Joseph Nemeth will discuss CBD oil and the role it plays in oral health. Bear in mind, there aren't enough studies yet to make any concrete claims about CBD. However, we would like to highlight a few studies that do exist and hopefully encourage further research.

A study done at the University of Uberaba in Brazil showed that CBD may be useful to control bone resorption during progression of experimental periodontitis in rats.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19070683

Another study conducted at Harvard talks about Cannabidiol's benefits related to inflammation https://www.health.harvard.edu..../blog/cannabidiol-cb

Also it may be helpful to help ease anxiety when at the dentist office. CBD can be a great tool to make sure you're relaxed while you're in the dental chair!

Many toothpastes kill all the bacteria in your mouth, even the good kind! Brushing your teeth with CBD oil will make sure that the good bacteria stay alive and can continue to fight the bad bacteria in your mouth.

If you're thinking of introducing CBD into your oral hygiene routine, start out small, and increase your dose from there. Also its very important to research the type of oil you're considering because some have higher concentrations than others.

DISCORD!:

Brooklyn Center Police Department has confirmed a man was fatally shot by an officer following a traffic stop Sunday afternoon.

The department has confirmed the man was fatally wounded after being shot by an officer shortly after officers had initiated a traffic stop on the 6300 block of Orchard Avenue.

A woman speaking at the scene has said that her 20-year-old son, named Daunte Wright, was the man killed.

This information has yet to be officially confirmed.

Police have issued a statement you can read below, but it does not state what traffic violation the victim was pulled over for, and to what the outstanding warrant was in relation.

A crowd has gathered at the scene asking the police for answers, leading to tense scenes that has thus far seen a squad car damaged and rubber bullets fired by police.

What police say happened
Note: The details provided in this statement are based on the police’s latest version of events, and may be subject to change.

Brooklyn Center Police Department officers initiated a stop for a traffic violation in the area of the 6300 block of Orchard Ave. in Brooklyn Center shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday.

Officers determined that the driver of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant. At one point as officers were attempting to take the driver into custody, the driver re-entered the vehicle.

One officer discharged their firearm, striking the driver. The vehicle traveled several blocks before striking another vehicle.

Officers in pursuit and responding medical personnel attempted life saving measures, but the person died at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the person’s name following a preliminary autopsy and family notification.

A female passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries during the crash. She was transported to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale.

Occupants of the vehicle that was struck during the crash were uninjured.

Brooklyn Center officers wear body-worn cameras. We believe both body-worn cameras and dash cameras were activated during this incident.

In 2015, 51 years on from desegregation, the American police killed over 100 unarmed African-Americans. They represented 37% of police deaths, despite occupying only 13% of the population. Black Lives Matter continues to push for racial justice, but is a global movement growing in controversy as much as it is prominence. This event brings together the mothers of individuals whose deaths have drawn attention to racist and even fatal law enforcement with the founders of the movement.

Panellists:

Sybrina Fulton - Mother of Trayvon Martin

Geneva Reed-Veal - Mother of Sandra Bland

Valerie Bell - Mother of Sean Bell
