NBC a annoncé qu'elle diffuserait le premier spin-off de The Apprentice, appelé The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. Incredible GLACIER CALVING & TSUNAMI WAVE Caught On Camera! | Glacier Wall Collapse (Greenland)
Incredible GLACIER CALVING & TSUNAMI WAVE Caught On Camera! | Glacier Wall Collapse (Greenland) WorldViralMedia 30 Views • 4 years ago

Huge Icebergs collapsing and breaking from the Ilulissat Glacier are often up to 3,000 feet in height (1,000 meter) and are broken up by the force of the glacier and icebergs further up the fjord. sub_confirmation=1Greenland is home to the only permanent ice sheet outside Antarctica. The sheet covers 3/4 of Greenland's land mass. The Ilulissat Icefjord drains 6.5% of the Greenland ice sheet and produces around 10% of all Greenland icebergs. Some 35 billion tonnes of icebergs calve off and pass out of the fjord every year. In the last 25 years, the Greenland Ice Sheet is rapidly melting, having lost 3.8 trillion tons of ice between 1992 and 2018, a new study from NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) finds. The melting ice has added 0.4 inches (11 millimeters) to sea level rise. Its cumulative 3.8 trillion tons of melted ice is equivalent to adding the water from 120 million Olympic-size swimming pools to the ocean every year. Ice calving, also known as glacier calving or iceberg calving, is the breaking of ice chunks from the edge of a glacier. It is the sudden release and breaking away of a mass of ice from a glacier, iceberg, ice front, ice shelf, or crevasse. The ice that breaks away can be classified as an iceberg, but may also be a growler, bergy bit, or a crevasse wall breakaway. The entry of the ice into the water causes large, and often hazardous waves. The waves formed in locations like Johns Hopkins Glacier can be so large that boats cannot approach closer than 3 kilometres. These events have become major tourist attractions. Many glaciers terminate at oceans or freshwater lakes which results naturally with the calving of large numbers of icebergs. Calving of Greenland's glaciers produce 12,000 to 15,000 icebergs each year alone. About this video: "Incredible glacier calving & tsunami wave caught on camera"This video is showing huge icebergs flipping over and subsequently a series of multiple iceberg and glacier wall collapses. Due to the enormous amount of ice falling into the water, the glacier calving event even triggered a series of mini-tsunami waves up to 16 feet in height (5 m) breaking on the shore.

Man, 20, Fatally Shot by Brooklyn Center Police - April 11, 2021
Man, 20, Fatally Shot by Brooklyn Center Police - April 11, 2021 WorldViralMedia 18 Views • 5 years ago

A Brooklyn Center officer fatally shot a 20-year-old man during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon, with a large crowd forming in the aftermath and police in riot gear holding the area. Police tried to stop the driver on the 6300 block of Orchard Ave. shortly before 2 p.m., when they learned he had an outstanding warrant, according to a media release from Brooklyn Center police.

When officers were trying to take him into custody, the driver re-entered the vehicle, police said. An officer discharged their firearm, striking the driver, who continued driving several blocks before hitting another vehicle near 63rd Ave. N. & Kathrene Dr.

Officers who were in pursuit rendered aid to the man at the crash site, but he died a short time later. A female passenger in the man’s vehicle had non-life-threatening injuries from the crash and was taken to the hospital. No one in the vehicle that was struck was hurt.

Family members at the scene identified the man as Daunte Wright, though he has not yet been identified by authorities. Wright’s mother said he called her on the phone to say he was getting pulled over, she told those gathered near the scene Sunday.

As officers locked down the area, a crowd grew larger and more vocal. Officers in full riot gear formed a line to keep the crowd back, and at least two squad cars were damaged by large rocks, with several people seen standing atop them in livestreams shared to social media.

Wright’s family and community leaders called for calm as the facts of the incident still come to light.

“The officer shooting in Brooklyn Center today is tragic. We are asking the protesters to continue to be peaceful and that peaceful protesters are not dealt with with force.” Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliot said in a tweet.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the officer-involved shooting and more information is expected in the coming days. Brooklyn Center officers wear body cameras and their dash camera video should be made available during the investigation.
