This talk primarily focuses on how hemp is a better alternative to traditional methods of making clothing. Additionally, it revolves around hemp's history and myriad of uses.
Kyle Oliveira is the Founder of Luxury Leaf LLC, a hemp clothing company. With over 2 years of research and experience in the industry, he has become extremely familiar with the facts and benefits of hemp.
Kyle is a current student at Bryant and is pursuing a degree in Finance with concentrations in Economics and Applied Analytics. In his time outside of academics, Kyle has started his own eco-friendly clothing company called Luxury Leaf. His goal in starting the company was to educate people about hemp superiority versus contemporary fabrics used in clothing. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

An NYPD detective this week denounced Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, shown in viral footage pinning his knee on the neck of George Floyd, as a failure — and called him his “enemy” because he dishonored the badge.
Detective Dmaine Freeland spoke out in a public video posted to Facebook Wednesday about the Monday night incident that has sparked national outrage.
“I felt compelled to say something, because I realized by saying nothing that I am indeed saying something,” said Freeland, who is wearing his NYPD uniform in the clip.

Demonstrators gather in Paris on Tuesday, June 2, to protest police brutality against black people and to demand justice for Adama Traore and George Floyd.
The demonstration is part of the “Justice for Adama” and “Black Lives Matter” movements and is expected to take place in front of ‘Tribunal de Paris’.
Adama Traore died in police custody in July 2016, after he was arrested while riding his bike with his brother in Beaumont-sur-Oise, a small town north of Paris. According to reports, he died having been transferred to the police station, after already complaining of problems with breathing.
George Floyd, a 46-year-old Houston native, died in Minneapolis last week after a police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes as he was recorded saying, "I can't breathe" and "Don't kill me."

Protesters took to the streets on Monday in Washington, D.C. just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the nation on the ongoing protests rocking many U.S. states.
In his televised remarks, Trump said a 7 p.m. curfew would be “strictly enforced” within Washington D.C. as well, promising lengthy jail sentences and severe criminal penalties for anyone caught breaking the law.
According to The Associated Press, between 600 and 800 National Guard members from five states were now being sent to assist the U.S. capital, citing senior defence officials.
Earlier on Monday, Trump had mocked the nation’s governors as “weak,” demanding that they enforce tougher crackdowns and more arrests in their states amid another night of violent protest in several American cities.
The protests, which were sparked by the death of George Floyd — a Black man who died of suffocation after a video showed a white Minneapolis police officer with a knee on Floyd’s neck — have now entered their second week.
