El pasado lunes el afroestadounidense George Floyd murió luego de ser arrestado por la policía de la ciudad de Minneapolis, en el noroeste de Estados Unidos. La difusión de varios videos del momento del arresto de Floyd que muestran a un policía blanco con la rodilla en su cuello han multiplicado las protestas en varias ciudades del país como Minneapolis , Nueva York y Los Angeles, con el lema "no puedo respirar", en alusión a las palabras de Floyd antes de morir. También se han registrado saqueos a varios locales y violentas manifestaciones durante las movilizaciones.

Ruptly is live from New York City on Saturday, June 6, as people continue protesting against police brutality and racial discrimination almost two weeks after the death of George Floyd.

Floyd was a 46-year-old black man who was killed during an arrest in Minneapolis on Monday, May 25, after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes despite Floyd saying he couldn’t breathe. The officer was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter. Later the other three officers involved in the arrest were also charged.

The incident sparked massive protests across the US and other countries around the world. ​

The protests have been starting off peaceful each day, but as the evenings roll on in the gatherings become very violent. This is what is going on in Los Angeles on the ground.
